SERS Support Armed Reserves Training

13th March 2015
SERS were extremely pleased to be support the armed reserves, Ex DRAGON BARBARIAN ALPINE, on their External Adventurous Training (AT) Expedition which took place in Flaine, France, from 10-17 Jan 2015 through the donation of thermal clothing to be worn during their training.

The expedition, as part of their armed reserves training, had the following objectives;

To provide Regt personnel the opportunity to complete Ski Foundation Level
Promote skiing and allow beginners/novices the opportunity to start Ski
Provide an opportunity for adventurous training in an overseas location
It is to meet the aims of Adventurous Training through the delivery of structured courses that seek to develop the requisite skills and techniques necessary to.

Teach personnel to ski safely and competently on a pisted slope in an Alpine environment
Teach personnel to ski safely and competently on tracks in a Nordic environment
Introduce the skills and techniques required to ski off-piste
Develop skills and techniques of ski touring
Develop skills and techniques of ski mountaineering

This will support personnel sent to combat in areas of the world which experience extreme weather and winter conditions.

The contribution made to our country by those who serve, and have served, in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces is undeniably considerable, and we wish them the best of luck with their expedition and further training. SERS supports many community groups across the UK through donations, sponsorships and commitments.
