SERS Win an INCA Award for Training 17th October 2014 SERS is celebrating after winning a highly coveted INCA award. The Insulated Render and Cladding Association awards are a celebration of EWI innovation and excellence.Over 300 people attended the awards ceremony in London on the evening of 16th October 2014 to hear SERS be announced as winners in the in the Training Category.This accolade recognises SERS’ commitment to training and our investment made in the insulation industry to ensure high standards of insulation installs are delivered. SERS have long realised that training is not only an investment in today’s employees but an investment in the skills of tomorrow’s workforce.SERS are committed to delivering a quality product and service by developing the skills of local people. Like many sectors specialist construction has suffered from a shortage of skills. As a result, SERS unveiled an apprenticeship programme to give youngsters the opportunity to gain experience and qualifications in a wide range of construction skills. This programme will provide SERS, as well as other companies, with the next generation of specialist solid wall installers.Our innovative and impressive training facility specialises in external and internal wall insulation and offers NVQ’s in this subject, supported by shorter bespoke programmes in health and safety and industry specific topics such as scaffolding, to both employees and the community.SERS currently have 24 apprentices across the UK in a number of trades including plastering, plumbing and electrical. 1834 training hours were completed in 2013 and included studying subjects such as NVQ EWI, Asbestos Awareness, Diversity & Equality, First Aid, Excel, Manual Handling, Domestic Energy Assessor, Procurement in the Workplace, SMSTS and SSSTS.The training academy and talent management programme supports SERS in achieving our vision of becoming a leading provider of energy saving solutions for buildings and houses in the UK. SERS’ training strategy has created a highly motivated workforce with a low turnover of employees.It is a great achievement for SERS to have been awarded this highly sought after industry award.The Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) is the recognised trade association for the external wall insulation (EWI) industry, representing the major system designers, a nationwide network of specialist installers and the key component suppliers.
